Gene and Katie were absolutely two of the coolest people I’ve met in a long time. Super laid back as well as they’re entire bridal party. A perfectly well planned and executed wedding day at Chase Court in Baltimore, Maryland. Loved their first look at the Peabody Court in front of the Washington Monument. Smart couple to get a bunch of the photos done early in the day with lots of gorgeous available lighting. Worked alongside Bill Desrochers and his son Eric, and “Dr. Spinn” Chip Corbin for entertainment. An absolutely wonderful day!
This weekend’s wedding at the Naval Academy was a frigid one… but I’ll take freezing cold over sweltering humidity any day! Beth and Stephen were a super chill couple too. Got to work with Jane Richman as their wedding coordinator, DJ Chris Hart, and Maggie Rogers at the Officer’s Club for the reception. Everything went absolutely perfect! Picture perfect weather despite the cold, however, I love the cold. It makes people snuggle which is great for photos. Note to future brides: don’t be afraid to plan a winter wedding. Freezing a little bit is so much more comfortable than sweating to death. Not to mention, the snow is gorgeous for photos. Oh! And you might just get a visit from Frosty the Snowman as you’ll see in the photos! (Thank Jill for the fabulous photo idea).
I wasn’t sure how well the Light Saber’s were going to work for the sword arch since they are REALLY dangerous, but all went well and no one got hurt. Plus they photographed really well. The purple one’s are actually blue; however, the frigid winter air reacted with the Ilum crystals they use to generate the energy thus turning them purple. I didn’t know that fact.
So now I can cross another one-off the bucket list… I’ve always wanted to photograph a Jedi Knight and his princess.
But seriously, what a wonderful couple. So far 2015 is gearing up to be a great year and thanks to Beth and Stephen I feel energized to get the season started.
One more final wedding to wrap up the year 2014 and I couldn’t think of any other folks to work with other than my favorites including… Matt Buerhaus from Buerhaus Design Videography, Chris Temple form C and J Entertainment, and the BESTest wedding gal in the Annapolis area… Ms. Michelle Vellon over at the Historic Inns of Annapolis‘ Governor Calvert House aka Mrs. Clause. Professional friends such as these make me look forward to next year for sure.
Amanda and Grant had a wonderful wedding day starting at the grandest of all Catholic Churches, St. Mary’s. We finished up photos with a trip around town just as the sun set and captured some iconic shots including the waterfront Annapolis skyline and the majestic State House. The Governor Calvert House’s atrium and ballroom were decked out with all sorts of tiny lights that made us feel like we were in a winter wonderland.
Great year and looking forward to 2015! Merry Christmas everyone!!!
